When we mention the Caribbean we think of the sea, warm beaches and water in abundance. Though these images are a reality behind them is a region grappling with the effects of climate change and supplying the demand for fresh water.
Coping with the demand for fresh water is one of the regions greatest challenges, as reduced precipitation and increasing temperatures due to climate change are realized. Several countries in the Caribbean are among the most water-stressed nations in the world, meaning that they require more water than is available to the population on an annual basis.
